Summer vacation is over, time to rush to the vet?

Picking up your pet from the kennels/cattery after Summer boarding, time to rush to the vet? Here is what you need to do to help avoiding that when it’s not really needed (unless your pet shows serious illness symptoms):

1. Back in Dubai and it’s so hot! Remember you need to maintain the AC temperature in the car on your way home and at home same as the one in the kennels especially if he had a grooming session just before check-out.

2. Stick to same feeding time your pet used to eat at while boarding for the first couple of days.
3. Never change the food type or quantity after check-out, if the kennels provided the food ask them to show you the brand and quantity your pet was eating and provide the same. If you do not have the same food ask the kennels to give you some and then you can change gradually.

4. Tired after your flight? ordered a delivery? Avoid sharing your pizza/ mandi/ burger with your dog regardless how cute the puppy face he gives you is.

5. You want to give you pet LOTS of treats because you feel guilty leaving him at the kennel, bad idea. don’t unless he was getting the same at the kennels.

6. Back to work immediately, kids are back to school and the dog is alone for 8 hours? Take him back to the kennel for at least 2 daycare sessions during the first week after check-out.

If you have considered all of that and your pet is still not feeling well, get in touch with your vet.
